Just doing my part
I'm sure you guys all know by now that I'm a pretty socially aware/active kind of chick - I mean, I rarely microwave styrofoam, I'm against animal testing (unless it's for, like, really good lip gloss, you know, the kind that makes your lips really soft and shiny and taste like vanilla), and I believe that all people who are stupid or who have bad breath should be spayed and/or neutered.Because of all of this, I feel that it's my responsibility to bring to your attention that today, June 7, is National Hunger Awareness Day. I'm doing my part (like, today when I got to work, I became aware that I was hungry, so I had some lemon yogurt and felt better almost immediately. Right now, I'm sort of craving something salty, but it's not Craving Awareness Day, so I won't get further into that) and I want this post to be a call to action to you and everyone you know to be aware of hunger today, because this silent killer can strike at any time - think about it, you could be at an important meeting talking about important things and suddenly, you might realize that you're hungry and you're still an hour away from lunch time. Symptoms of hunger and/or low blood sugar include feeling shaky, nervous, tired, sweaty, cold, hungry, confused, irritable or impatient. Protect yourself by carrying a Snickers bar or a pocketful of Cheerios at all times.
Please, if you love your family and friends, pass along this powerful message - and if you've got any chips, please drop them off at my desk right away.
You can thank me later
