this and that.

I got a message today from the county - they were calling about a job I had been coveting - they want to interview me...

Whilest pondering this, I heard the bosslady on the phone with a friend of hers. (I wasn't really eavesdropping, but her office door was open and her voice carries... ALOT - okay, she's loud, but it's not annoying or anything, she's really nice - I tend to make allowances for people I like) She was talking about how she and the bossman had been planning on spending the long weekend down in Florida. Then, she went on to tell her friend that she and the bossman happened to catch a news report about the hurricane victims last night and how it had her in tears. After watching the report, the bossman asked her if she wouldn't mind donating the money they were going to spend over the weekend to hurricane relief. She said that she knew that, compared to the devastation, the small amount of money they were donating wasn't going to be but a drop in the bucket, but she said that they didn't feel right about taking a vacation.

I generally don't know how to react when people surprise me in a good way, but it made me feel... not bad about not wanting to call the people at the county back
