New Car Question

My new (to me car) came with a remote control for the stereo (which is mysteriously working again, by the way) - Why would one require a remote control for a car stereo? Before you say that it's so someone in the backseat could play dj, please consider this - If someone isn't important enough to rate a front seat, why on earth would they warrant control of the music? I'm just wondering.

  • Is it an in-dash radio, or one of those plug and play satellite radios? Either way, I have no clue.

  • Tim - it's in-dash

Jen - thanks for the explanation - all I need now is some bangin' hydraulics, sparkly burgundy flames painted on the side and some mud flaps with chrome girls on them... and I suppose I should get a tattoo on my neck, too

  • I give it to people in the back so they can play DJ. I'd rather have them occupied with the stereo than bitching about my driving!

  • On a side note, thanks for getting rid of Marge's pubes. I was beginning to worry that my coworkers would think I'm obsessed with cartoon... uh... pubes.

  • This probably isn't true in your little car, but the stereo in one of the vans I drive is far enough away that if I want to flip through the radio stations, I have to lean over. A remote would make things much easier. It's also something to lose. What's the fun of having things if you can't lose their accessories?
