We need to talk

No one likes to have a conversation start like that, huh? Well, fuck you* because I have something to get off my chest...

We can agree that, being bloggers, we're all just a titch narcissistic, right? Right - and we all have our moments of blatant comment whoring and link swapping, right? Right - And we all ping ourselves ocassionally just to see what other people are saying about us, or if someone new and exciting has linked us, right? Right - And we're all eternally grateful for each and every comment and link because they all help to fill that little empty space inside of us, right? Right - And we'd be crazy to complain about someone linking us, right? well... here's where I've got a little gray area - Earlier this week, I technorati-ed myself and found someone new who had linked me as "a little crude, but funny"**...

Now, I'm not disputing that I am both crude*** and funny****, and I'm jiggling with joy over having another link, but, on principle, I'm a smidge troubled that someone who doesn't know me at all would link me like that AND I'm more than troubled that someone who mentions God and church in every single post would link me at all

Maybe it's just the phrasing that troubles me - "a little crude, but funny" - like, in spite of my crudeness, I can also be amusing - that's like saying "he's gargoyle ugly, but he's a nice guy"... I might not have objected so heartily if it had been "funny, but a little crude" - or "mildly amusing, in spite of her potty mouth" - or "hilarious, regardless of the fact that she's OBVIOUSLY going to Hell"

Or am I just being a brat? Tell me honestly*****
