Actual conversation with my boss:

boss: we need to do more work on this client
me: okay, what kind of work?
boss: we need to do more
me: what kind of work do you want us to do more of?
boss: we just need to do more work on them
me: okay...let me know what i can do to help you.
boss: (pause to think) we need to do more work.
me: (in pain) alright, i don't think you're hearing my question... what can i do to help you do more work on this client?
boss: i want to do more work on them.
me: (still in pain, but resigned to not caring at this point) okay, i'll do what i can
boss: we need to pay more attention to the work we're doing on them...
me: (blank look)
boss: if we can, i want to get more work done for them

--- i realize you're probably bored at this point... as you should be... it kept going on...pretty much like this for about three or four more minutes... that's 180 to 240 more agonizing seconds of this... and he really expects results from this...
