For the record...

Charlie's Mother:

You get blue like everyone
But me and Grandpa Joe
Can make your troubles go away
Blow away, there they go...
Cheer up,
CharlieGive me a smile
What happened to the smile I used to know
Don't you know your grin has always
Been my sunshine;
Let that sunshine show...
Come on, Charlie
No need to frown
Deep down you know tomorrow is your toy...
When the days get heavy
Never pitter patter
Up and at'em boy
Some day, sweet as a song
Charlie's lucky day will come along
Till that day
You've got to stay strong
CharlieUp on top is right where you belong
Look up, Charlie
You'll see a star
Just follow it and keep your dreams in view
Pretty soon the sky is going to clear up
Charlie,Cheer up Charlie,do
Cheer up Charlie
Just be glad you're you.

  • as cate can attest to, i watched this show just about every day, multiple times, for more than one summer at my dad's house. the entire family still has flashbacks of the constant viewings (i don't get why they let me watch it so much)... anyhow... even with all that i DID have to google it...although i knew about half of the words anyway.

  • That was the time I fast-forwarded through the movie-when Charlie's mom started singing. As I kid, I just didn't have any patience for it. I just wanted to get to the factory part!

  • My least favorite song of the movie. Not because it sucked or anything, but because I felt so damn sorry for the mom and Charlie. I mean, look at that job of hers. Gawd. And poor Charlie -- go home to 2 sets of invalid grandparents and bread for supper. Yippee. Thank God he inheirits the factory at the end. Oops! Did I just ruin the movie for some of you?!?
    ;)
