Yes, I'm already blogging from my new job

I've been here since about 9 and, while painfully boring, it's tolerable and the people are nice - Thus far, I have accomplished sending 2 faxes, mailing the accounts payable checks, fixing the internet that's been broken on this computer for 3 weeks, and reading a lovely magazine about Tampa (granted, this is more than I got done in the last 4 weeks at my last job) - The owner of the company (who, by the way, has a framed pic of George W & his wife-bot in his office) is one of those guys who vaguely outlines a task, then says to "get it done" (fortunately his wife is here to translate from "Dictator to English" for me and fill in the blanks.)

The only problem that I have, though, is the language barrier - I swear I can't understand a word these people are saying - everyone who has called, I've had to ask them about seventy two times to repeat whatever it is that they're saying (I'm sure they think I rode the short bus to work today) I'm hoping to find a "Slow-Mumbled-Drawl to English" translator on eBay.

The pluses include flexible hours, way casual dress code (I'm wearing jeans and flip flops tomorrow) and seemingly endless time to surf the internet and read books and magazines. It's kind of like being at home, but without tv and I have to wear real clothes.

  • That's the job I want. Except that I want to go in at 10 and be done by 3. Oh, and have weekends off. And not have that whole mumbling thing. That's not too much to ask, is it?
