And I thought *my* pop culture references were obscure

Back story - When my big old white girl fro starts to bug me in the middle of the day, I twist it up into a couple of sections and secure it with little clippy things (usually they don't match) so I've got two little afro puffs on top of my head.

Today was the first time I debutted the 'puffs at the new job and the bosslady came downstairs and saw me with them and told me how cute that it looked and said that she wished that she could do something like that, but that she would probably look like a "big old dork" if she tried it. From the look on one of the construction guys face, I could tell he didn't think it was as cute as she thought it was.

"Rick thinks I look like a big old dork like this," I announced.

"No," he drawled (because that's how people talk out here). "I wuddn't thinkin' that, I was thinkin 'Nanoo nanoo'."

And I was speechless - you just don't expect a "Mork and Mindy" reference out here in the backwoods. It catches one off guard.
