I thought I was moving to the future, when in fact, I live in the 1950s...

Were you aware that in order to get married in the lovely state of Georgia, one must be 16 years of age or older? But don't despair, Romeo and Juliet, you can still get married if you're under 16 as long as you have parental consent... Oh, still a problem? Those Montagues and Capulets not willing to sign those consent forms? Just get knocked up - anyone of any age can get married here - sans parental consent - as long as the bride-to-be is pregnant.

Georgia Lawmaker: Should we make homosexual marriage legal here?

Other Georgia Lawmaker: Heck no, y'all, I don't even want them sinners in my state.

Georgia lawmaker: What about sexually active 12 year olds?

Other Georgia Lawmaker: I'm fine with that, where do I sign?

So... Bobby and Mike, the fabulous committed couple who own the best house on my street can't marry, but sixth graders whose parents haven't provided adequate supervision can?

Rock on with your bad self, Georgia.
