The word of the day is: perspective

A week or so ago, there was a terrible crime here in Savannah - a couple from New York had just bought a great house (about 4 miles from our house) and the husband had moved in and got the house ready for his wife and as she pulled up to the house to spend her first night there, and her husband came out to meet her, a car full of thugs came up, demanded her car keys then shot him to death. I read somewhere that she was planning on selling the house and moving back to New York.

My husband, who's had his real estate license for about two weeks: "that really sucks that they're having to sell the house so soon after buying it."

me: "..."

My husband, the realtor: "What?"

me: "..."

My husband, the realtor: "What?"

me: "I think that it might suck just a teeny tiny bit more that her husband of a forty years or so was killed in front of her."

My husband: "Well, yeah, that sucks, too..."
