Day 5 (?) - due West
I could tell I was getting closer to Texas by the number of half-armadillos by the side of the road. I don't think I've ever seen a live one, but they seen to be nature's Cadbury Eggs - a slightly pliable outer shell and gooey insides... gross enough for you?Miles driven: lots
Miles to go: some
Red Bulls consumed: none today
Breakfast: cold pizza from yesterday and peach yogurt
Current hotel room smell: 45 years of nicotene... thank gosh for the non-smoking sign on the door
Times I've seen "I Love David Bowie" written on a gas station bathroom wall: 1
Piles of animal urine/feces/vomit I've had to clean up today: 0 (It's a freakin' banner day)
More to say: not so much
Texas feels really big, all kinds of open space, HUGE factories and gigantic trucks (none of which appear to be equipped with turn signals).
Less than 24 hours from right now, I'll be at the new house - no telling how long it will take for it to feel like home.
and then... *sigh* today is my last day with the intarweb until Saturday at least... What did I do before the internets?
