Were you aware that it's winter in some parts of the world?

Like Rapid City, South Dakota.
(all that white stuff on the ground? Snow - who knew?)

Can you believe it? I couldn't either!!! I mean, just yesterday, I was wearing flip flops and complaining about having to use the a/c in my car and today? Freezing my tatas off and staring at 5 - 10 foot tall snow drifts. It's my first time in real snow, though, and it's kind of neat. Also neat? Kicking my kid's ass in a snowball fight.

It's really pretty, though. Hopefully it thaws out enough for us to take the long and winding trip up to that big carved mountain.

*regardless of the universe conspiring against this vacation - like how right after we booked it (not that we can afford it, but my husband will wither and die if he's not allowed to take little vacations a couple times a year), the water heater in our house in Savannah died and we had to crap out a huge amount of cash to fix that because, even though my hot derby wife (who happens to be renting the house) is a dirty hippy, she still happens to like warm showers. And my whole ridiculously painful back issue (which is feeling better now, but still not so comfortable on a plane trip) And then some stupid blizzard happened yesterday and shut down the airport here... (un)Fortunately, there were no nekkid b00bs at the Denver Airport this time, but lots of dirty hippies and unabomber types, and there was a guy on our plane who looked like an extra in Mad Max (complete with spiked leather jacket, dirty cut-off pants and heavy leather boots... oh, and an knitted elf hat to keep warm)
