ah, misquoted songs...reminds me of all my (unfortunately) notorious lyrical blunders. one's i can think of; brown eyed girl: "hey rodrigo" (instead of hey where do we go)
my friend (kim) Fire and Rain by James Taylor: "i've seen far and i've seen rain"
kim was my partner in brown eyed girl too. we would sing at the top of our lungs at the baseball games...unbeknownst to us we were yelling the wrong words!
my personal favorite is "Groovin' (on a Sunday afternoon)" by the Little Rascals - the line "Life would be ecstacy, you and me endlessly" I thought it said "You and me and Leslie" - who is leslie and why does that make life better?
and that song "I can see clearly now, the rain is gone, I can see all obstacles in my way" - my darling sister used to interpret as "I can see all opticals in my eye"
I think that my supposition that the lyric could have been "opticals in my eye" demonstrates my ingenuitive cognitive reasoning abilities... come on now...I linked "opticals" with "eye." Piaget would have thought me a genius.
