These are the people in your neighgborhood

We've been here a week and already met four of our neighbors (Tim, Mrs Lee Something, Bobby, and Joanie and Larry) - which may be more than we'd ever met in the previous three houses put together - aside from the one neighbor that we met accidentally (he was working in the furniture store where we bought our bed and the other sales guy recognized our address and introduced us) they've all gone out of their way to meet us (which is truly bizarre, since I come from the place where people avoid eye contact with neighbors if at all possible) - and last night was the topper - the people next door (Joanie and her son Shaun, in case you were wondering) brought over brownies - brownies! With a cute little note welcoming us to 64th Street - how fucking cute is that?*

*anyone want to start taking bets as to how long before the friendliness starts to bug me?
