In exile, just like a princess (just without all those tall towers and dragons and princes coming to save me)
As my sister and I have mentioned several trillion times - our older brother is getting married this weekend, and the wedding festivities last all weekend - from the bridal luncheon (gag) at 1 on Friday to the church service (wtf?) on Sunday morning - it's going to be the Nothing But Nuptials Weekend Tour 2005tm - hold on a second while I try to contain my joy.my sister is flying out from Seattle this weekend and I'm packing up my family and leaving about 3 hours before the buttcrack of dawn tomorrow for a 6 hour drive.
Then comes the merriment, joy, glee, sorority sisters and endless hours of primping and fluffing - oh, and did I mention that our insane mother will be there? Because, yeah, she will. (I feel sort of bad for the bride to be because she has this close family who, apparently, likes being together and our family will pretty much do anything to avoid each other - I don't think she gets the concept that our family is more like the
In addition to all of this, we will be living the Quaker life - no tv, no internet, no Walgreen's within 4 minutes - just family - All family, all the time - far away from civilization, out at some "resort" in the woods... God help us all
On the upside, I get to see my criminally cool little sister (seriously, if you had any idea how wicked cool she is, you'd be SO jealous - you may have an inkling from her blog, but you don't really know ) and get to meet her boyfriend, Professor Taper Pants, and I get to hang with my dad and stepmom and really, I'm sort of looking forward to a weekend away from the computer (no, not really - I'm dying inside - if you text me this weekend, I promise to text back - and there should probably be a couple of people expecting drunk dials, you know who you are... but most of you don't read this... nevermind... I'm just sayin')
