actual conversation i just had with my mother

this is an excerpt from when she called me at work today -

my mother: "i'm just calling to tell you that i got an ad for ulta today and, remember that vanilla lotion you gave me last christmas? the one i like so much? well they have it and it's on sale..."

me: ...

my mother: "i mean, i really, really like that lotion and i'm not really close to one of those stores..."

me: "yeah, and it's not like you're retired and could just drive your happy ass over there ANY DAY OF THE WEEK" (okay, i didn't say that, but i sure thought it)

my mother: "so... if you happened to go there anytime soon..."

me: "i'm not sure if i'll be able to..."

my mother: "the sale is only until wednesday..."

me: "for fuck's sake, hint taken already, i'll buy you a fucking dozen for christmas!" (okay, i didn't say that either, but really, you don't need to reply to have a conversation with my mother, she'll just keep on going)
