More misheard song lyrics*

*Brought to you by my iPod Shuffle

From "Every Breath You Take" by the Police

The line is:

"How my poor heart aches,
For every step you take..."

Forever, I thought it was:

"I'm a pool hall o' apes,
For every step you take..."

Sure, it never made complete sense, but it provided an interesting visual, no?

  • For a long time I was under the impression that the lyric in Fields of Gold by Sting was "Upon the fields of holly." Barley makes a lot or sense because a) the fields are gold, and b) doing anything in a field of holly would suck something fierce.

  • hi, my name is kayde, and im a recovering moron.

i always thought the lyrics - "theres bad moon on the rise" were "theres a bathroom on the right".

dude, i cant be the only one. they did that shit on purpose.

  • kayde, i think *everyone* thought that... i totally agree that it was on purpose.

my favourite? i went to see depeche mode with some friends when i was 16. when they played "just can't get enough", my friend jonathan's eyes lit up and he exclaimed, "OH MY GOD! I'D ALWAYS THOUGHT THEY WERE SAYING 'I JUST CAN'T GET IT UP!'"
